LIVED EXPERIENCE
I believe in the resilience of the human spirit and its ability to heal, even after the most painful struggles. As a trauma and addiction therapist, I’m passionate about the work I do. Being a part of someone’s healing journey is both a sacred honor and a privilege. My lived experience is an important part of why I became a therapist. I have been in long-term recovery from alcohol and drug use for over 13 years. My recovery journey has been an ongoing excavation of my past and my soul that has been at times intensely painful and at other times incredibly rewarding. I wouldn’t trade this aspect of who I am for anything as it has given me profound meaning and purpose in my life. Clients appreciate that although I have walked the walk, I help them find the way that works for them.
DEDICATED TO THE MENTAL HEALTH FIELD
Since 2014, I have been dedicated to the mental health field. I have worked with a diverse range of clients across various settings. I’ve worked in inpatient behavioral health, corrections, community mental health, and residential treatment. In 2015 I graduated from the University of Utah with my bachelors degree and an emphasis in recreational therapy. As a recreational therapist I used the power of therapeutic experiences to help people cope with the challenges in their life. I went on to get my MSW from the University of Utah. This allowed me to do deep trauma work with clients. The last four years I have been focused on helping adults heal from complex trauma and find recovery from all types of addiction including compulsive sexual behaviors.
TRAUMA-FOCUSED MODALITIES
I take a client-centered approach to therapy. I believe that no one knows you better than you! Even if you feel you can’t access your internal knowing and wisdom at this moment, it is there. My job is to help you tap into that wisdom and guide you with skill and compassion in your healing journey. I have completed countless hours of trauma specific training including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic work utilizing the Polyvagal Theory. Additionally, I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and a Certified Multiple Addictions Therapist (CMAT) through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). I am currently pursuing comprehensive training in partner betrayal trauma. I am a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist Candidate (CPTT-C) and will complete that certification in April of 2026.
In my free time I enjoy all things outdoors! I am an avid fly angler and attribute much of my recovery to my time on the water. I live on a small homestead with my husband where we raise packgoats, turkeys, chickens, and hope to add a few cows soon!
